Transport companies` protests are expected to paralyze traffic in Sofia , Varna , Rouse and Plovdiv today. The carriers are protesting against the fuel price increase. Varna airport called a construction tender, bids can be submitted by 9 June. After the engineering contract for the platforms of Burgas airport, Arrivals terminal 1 the concession holder Fraport Twin Star Airport Management - Varna, started a second tender procedure. The competition is open, the bids will be opened on 12 June. The maximum amount of work is for 13,860 sq. m of the platform, the time deadline is 120 days, the participation guarantee is BGN 6,500. The candidates should present evidence for at least 3 similar projects of more than BGN 600,000. The bituminous mix to be used should have been applied on other airports too. The candidates will have to present declarations for their own or render technical equipment, a copy of the certificate by ISO 9001. Results of the competition for a detailed urban plan for the airports in Burgas and Varna are expected.
